How is this not an @FTC issue? This is, by definition, humans selling their time for money to a company. Bait and switch is already illegal. When will the @FTC **enforce**?
Employers are using a bait and switch strategy, luring prospective employees with high salary offers that aren't backed up in the formal job offer. I talked to workers about the problem. eoinhiggins.substack.com/p/b…

I just realized during an interview, that you can add in one thing that will either show you're applying to a wholesome or hostile work environment: Hi Im CrankyLinuxUser, pronouns he/him. You either define your pronouns or you anger them. Superb litmus test!

It really feels like the whole Cryptocurrency, blockchain, and NFT craze is the big precursor to actually seeing Project Xanadu and its horror wholly made alive. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Projec… 1/x

Picture going to every website, and being demanded to pay some cryptocurrency to see the contents. And content is slowly locked behind "pay shitcoin". There's the Xanadu currency. 2/x

And you are relegated to setting up crap content to get the coin to actually get online. Because you either pay lots of money, or you get this xanadu currency from somewhere.. Might as well make garbage pages to pay "passive income". 3/x

As this garbage takes hold, we will be forced to deal with it in some fashion. Mark my words: the time when we have webpages and content locked behind cryptocurrency is not that far off. And we've realized that this stuff's already a nightmare. We aint seen nothin yet. 4/end

Always love when new job HR wants meyers-briggs tests done, and coworkers use the term "thats so retarded". Gives me fuzzy feelings.

I don't work to create "culture". I work to make money. I use money to live. And "high functioning teams" is pure management speak for 'get butts in seats at a building we pay entirely too much for'.

Yay. My primary laptop died. Like, won't power on kind of dead. After opening it up, it had water damage. larger than the CPU footprint, and some caps were buckling.

And this is why I talk about how much I'm paid. Its not that I should be getting paid less. Its about we all getting paid more.
if you're all on the same team, doing the same job, should you not be paid the same?

And this company puts out hardware like this because they're counting on you pirating all the games.... Since they cannot legally sell them.

Powered by FPGA. Everything at Analogue is powered by FPGA. An FPGA provides unparalleled accuracy and low latency - eliminating the problems of software emulation. So you know you are experiencing history with the respect it deserves.

Well fuck. Illiterate whites were allowed to vote after literacy and poll tax laws prevented black people from voting. Allowing illiterate whites to vote were known as "grandfathered in" cause their family could vote before passing Emancipation.
so... the phrase "grandfathered in" is extremely racist: it originates directly from poll tax regimes post-US Civil War. history.howstuffworks.com/am…

I tried calling. No answer. I sent an email. No answer. And im being *threatened* that if I want to wait outside away from covidiot, that they will return a POSITIVE result. Is this a average experience with your company? Yes, I have pics and can prove it.

This is not an apology of "We dun fucked up. This was sexist, terrible, and should have been rejected on sight." This is much more of "We're sorry we got called out". That's what is terrible here.
TL;DR: The BYOB contest is always based on engineering effort. We should have thought twice and considered some sort of disqualification instead of just asking everyone to please beat this badge out. Outside of this, (1/3)

That's weird. @realSexyCyborg blocked me. Thought she was damned cool and doing a lot for open source in China. Perhaps a script went awry?

I will never again attempt to profit on a vulnerability that affects humanity…I apologize to everyone for this. I’m human, and I ask you to please forgive me. This zero-day has existed for over 10 years!!! And is purposefully built into the code and I will expose this!
